Role Summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ACA/ACCA qualified Audit Senior to join one of the UK top 100 accountancy firms and a leading adviser to SMEs/owner-managed businesses.

Working as part of the audit team, reporting directly to Audit Manager, you will be involved in the planning and be responsible for carrying out designated audits and to ensure the smooth running of the fieldwork stage for a wide range of clients. You must be able to complete jobs with minimal supervision, to deadlines and within budget.

Responsibilities

The current portfolio of clients consists predominately of SMEs/privately-owned businesses operating in various sectors including, but not limited to, professional services, charities, property, construction, manufacturing, etc.

You will provide a high quality service to the Managers and Partners including making a positive contribution to the development of the Firm. You will also be expected to develop strong client relations and be able to delegate tasks and responsibilities within a team. This role will also require the successful candidate to supervise junior trainees and review their work.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to obtain audit experience in a variety of sectors together with scope for career development. The ideal candidate will be confident to work independently as well as part of a team and strive to take initiatives in solving audit issues as they arise.

Main duties

  • Undertaking statutory audit and preparation of accounts, reports, proposals etc, under the supervision of Managers and/or Partners
  • Co-ordinate fieldwork at clients including liaising with relevant departments
  • Liaising with clients and related third parties
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out to deadlines and within budget
  • Helping to gain new clients
  • Any other ad hoc duties that may be required

Skills

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Minimum three years experience in Audit within an accountancy practice
  • Experience of preparing accounts in accordance with UK GAAP
  • Experience of preparing accounts under IFRS

Salary negotiable depending on experience.
