Description

My client is a successful logistics organisation based near Manchester who due to recent internal promotions are looking to bolster their Commercial team who are responsible for the financial management and analysis of circa £800m turnover. The key function of the department is to provide commercial and financial insight, support, management and control of accounts for the business.

This role would suit a recent graduate or someone who has up to 1 years' experience. Along with a strong academic background, you will need to be personable, comfortable building internal/external relationships and work to deadlines. An outline of the role is below:

  • Working with and managing relationships with the sales team to ensure that all stakeholder requirements are met
  • Reviewing the profitability of our customer accounts and liaising with the sales and analyst team to improve performance or formulate exit strategies
  • Supporting the sales team in large business tenders, reviews and re-tenders. This includes attending customer meetings and presenting commercial proposals
  • Creating and reviewing forecasts for accuracy on a timely basis
  • Active involvement in the production of the National Accounts sales budget for your sector
  • Managing the retro process end to end, including creation of routine retro reporting, payment processing and balance sheet reconciliations for National Account customers
  • Actioning the bi-annual price reviews with the sales teams to ensure a smooth process is adhered to and positive results are delivered

What we're looking for..

  • Degree: 2:1 or above in a numerically related subject i.e. Maths, Economics, Finance etc.
  • Intermediate Excel skills - use of Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP's
  • Sound commercial acumen and analytical skills; able to examine and interpret data from different sources for commercial use
  • Good research and writing skills
