Grant Finance Officer

Manchester City Centre

£22,500pa

Fixed Term Contact March 2025 may go perm.

Due to expansion, they are now seeking a Grant Finance Officer to manage a £3,000,000 budget on a fixed term contract until March 2025.

Job Description

  • Ensure that robust project management processes and procedures are implemented and continuously improved.
  • Working closely with the Programme Manager and Officer to review and finalise progress reports.
  • Manage the grant payment processes once reports are finalised and approved.
  • Provide the required information to the finance team so that accurate and timely grant payments are made.
  • Monthly reconciliation of the grant account to ensure that grant payments are accurate.
  • Support the Head of Finance UK with the grant auditing process.
  • Setting up new grant-approved providers in the system and conducting the onboarding process.
  • Producing detailed expenditure lists, ensuring budget overview for each service with a full understanding of the cost of each service and the level of grant funding
  • Provide monthly financial reports to budget holders incorporating actual costs and forecasted, committed cost. To alert budget holders to possible budget threats.
  • Answer and respond to queries on the grant processes.
  • Understand and follow strict GDPR processes and ensure that data is accurately recorded and secure.
  • Ensure the project plan is adhered to, supporting milestones and KPI achievement.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience working with finance processes and procedures, including recording income and expenditure.
  • Finance qualification Degree / AAT
  • Proven ability to work in and across teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple/competing priorities.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Confident in communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Desirable experience in grant management.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience/knowledge Managing Processes; Administration; Reporting Skills.
