A fantastic opportunity has come up with a high growth technology company in the Lancaster area. As they expand, they are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Management Accountant to join the finance team.
Position Overview: We are looking for an AAT qualified Assistant Management Accountant to support our finance team in various accounting and financial tasks. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by collecting and analyzing financial data.
- Perform reconciliations of accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings accurately and on time.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.
- Provide support for ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- AAT qualification is desitable
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a finance or accounting department.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork.
