A large law firm specialising in insurance claims are seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to cover a 10 month period of maternity leave. The position will primarily be based at their large Head Office in Birkenhead but will also require the Senior HR Advisor to attend their smaller offices in the heart of Liverpool city centre.

The Senior HR Advisor will report in to the Head of HR and be responsible for supporting and mentoring the rest of the HR team. You should be experienced at dealing with a high volume of casework along with the ability to successfully lead on all complex cases. The business is a combination of professional services and a large contact centre. Therefore previous experience within a contact centre environment would be advantageous.

This role is to start ASAP so any applicants who are immediately available will take priority.


  • Manage a high level of complex investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters
  • Provide advice and guidance on a high volume of individual employee relation cases
  • Manage long term absence management cases including occupational health and medical referrals
  • Providing Line Managers and Heads of Depts with guidance, coaching and support on all HR activities
  • Support and mentor the junior members of the HR team
  • To assist the Head of HR with the delivery of ad-hoc HR projects as required


  • Ideally a minimum of CIPD Level 5 qualified
  • Significant ER casework experience - both high volume and complex
  • Influencing, persuading, coaching and negotiating skills
