Assistant Accountant / Finance Assistant

My client are a multi-award winning business based in Manchester, and are looking for a strong-willed and business-minded professional to work within their accounts function.

They are looking for someone with strong accounting experience, and are either part way through your AAT or Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA and must have your own car and able to drive.

Core responsibilities:

• Completion of end-to-end monthly Management Accounts including Group Consolidated Financial Statements
• Assist Group CFO with cash flow requirements & analysis
• Departmental budget creation and regular monitoring
• Business partnering with teams based overseas
• Inter-company reconciliations
• Assisting with annual audit
• Year End Accounts
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns

Person Specification

• Experience with foreign currency management
• Experience with accruals, pre-payments and other month end journals
• Sage 200 experience advantageous
• Group accounting experience preferred
• High level of attention to detail
• Proactive aptitude to identify potential concerns
• Be open to travelling
• Comfortable self-managing

There may be the need for you to travel to other sites and to work from home, so access to a vehicle and a valid drivers licence is crucial. They can offer first class study support including days off for study/revision during quieter times.

There are also a variety of companies to work on within the business including dealing with teams and Directors from the US and Australia. This is an opportunity for a proactive, self-starting and commecrcially-aware individual to expand their horizons.
