I am currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join a very fast paced Department as a proactive Accounts assistant who has an understanding of stock.

The role involves ensuring that the Company maintains adequate stock levels, allowing them to function efficiently and maintain excellent levels of customer satisfaction.

The Account Assistant will be willing to learn all aspects of the role, in order to manage a well-established team, have a high attention to detail, well organised and assertive.

As an Accounts Assistant you will have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure and have flexibility around critical business needs.

Previous experience working within a busy environment would also be advantageous and good IT skills are essential.


The desired Accounts Assistant will provide manage inventory and purchase merchandise based on company need and will report directly to the Financial Controller.

Accounts Assistant Key responsibilities:

  • To ensure Workspace is clean, Well maintained, welcoming and professional
  • Report on daily sales compared to budget and look into any difference
  • To ensure suppliers (trade suppliers, councilors, partners) are giving the best prices and negotiate discounts where required
  • Coordinate regular inventory audits
  • Ensure those items over guide price are sourced as cheaply as possible
  • Look at Out Of Stocks and Liaise with reps and Manufacturers on lead time
  • Keep Order Manager rules up to date
  • Investigate any branded switching and block if required
  • Internal stock list to be keep up to date - then to be sent out as needed
  • Review daily prices / offers
  • Review all suppliers that do not interface with Order Manager
  • Check Xchange for large discounts on items
  • Review price concessions
  • Compare invoice price to system price and investigate any discrepancies
  • Pack size optimization
  • Liaise with counter staff on what to buy for shop lines and ensure correctly priced
  • Retail Promotions on seasonal items
  • Removed unused stock from each branch
  • Review monthly Owings report for each branch and present findings

This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant and would suit somebody from a Manufacturing background, working for a leading, well established Organisation which offers stability, flexi hours, on-site parking and other benefits. You will have access to your own vehicle as there will be occasional travel between sites across the Fylde Coast.
