Description

I am currently working with a highly reputable retail organisation who are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant in the Burnley area which is situated near Blackburn and Accrington. This is an exciting role working for a fantastic company who are looking for someone to join them on their journey. This is a full-time permanent position where you will report directly into the Financial Controller.

Key responsibilities within this role would be:

  • Enter and code financial transactions appropriately.
  • Process payments as well as documents like overheads invoices, expense claims.
  • Reconciling Purchase Ledger Statements.
  • Issue manual invoices.
  • Follow up stock returns, supplier claims and chasing Credit Notes.
  • Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees.
  • Chasing branches for weekly timesheets.
  • Cash counting and preparing pay-in slips.
  • Updating spreadsheets for daily cash received from various branches.
  • Daily cash reconciliation.
  • Managing petty cash transactions.
  • Answering phone calls.
  • Covering holidays and ad-hoc work.

What we are looking for?

  • Strong excel skills
  • 2-3 years' experience within a similar role
  • High attention to detail
  • Willing to learn and develop new skills
  • Sage Payroll experience is desirable
