Purchase Ledger Clerk

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an adaptable and versatile Purchase Ledger Clerk to work within a Finance Department in Skelmersdale. This role will be suited for a Purchase Ledger Clerk with a good knowledge of accounts, are well organised, can work under pressure and can manage your own workload.

This opportunity would be full time working 37.5 hours per week on a temporary contract initially for 2 months but with the likelihood of it being extended.

Responsibilities within this role would be;

  • Checking, matching, coding and processing invoices on Sage
  • Reconciling supplier queries and payments
  • Reconciling statements
  • Arranging payment of invoices
  • Liaising with suppliers and have the ability to resolve any discrepancies
  • Processing BACS and Cheques
  • Reviewing aged debtor reports
  • Reviewing unallocated cash reports

Essentials are;

  • AAT or qualified by experience
  • Previous transactional experience
  • SAGE (advantageous)

The successful candidate will be Excel proficient and able to learn new software packages quickly.
