We are working exclusively with a Manchester-based multi-award-winning firm of chartered accountants and business advisors. Providing expert advice in taxation, corporate finance, audit, accounts, payroll, and insolvency.

The firm has been operating for over 70 years and today operates from landmark offices, employing more than 60 staff with 6 partners. They are one of the region's best-established accountancy firms.

The firm is looking to appoint audit manager who is looking to take the next step in their career. You must be an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who has experience of reviewing workload and recruiting / training members of staff and you must also be able to demonstrate strong communication skills. There is the opportunity to gain involvement in the firm's plans for growth so any prior experience of tendering for new business or networking would be preferable.

This is a key function of the managers' role.

• To ensure that the audit/accounts department operates efficiently and effectively,
• The main duties include
• Staff productivity is maximized,
• Ensuring the standard of work complies with all regulatory and statutory requirements,
• Providing a quick turnaround of work whilst maintaining a high level of professional workmanship throughout the department.
• Freeing up partners' time so that they can work on the continued development of the business.
• Audit & accounts manager would be expected to attend the weekly planning meeting and both update and distribute the planning schedule to all members of the audit and accounts team.
• Monitor Iris job stages to ensure that these are updated and properly reflect the job progress.
• Monitor staff chargeability to ensure proper utilization of staff and recording of work.
