Agility Resourcing are exclusively recruiting for an exciting Private Equity backed business in the Energy Sector for a Group Financial Controller. The Group Financial Controller will be based in Central London (15 mins from Euston station) and efficiently and accurately oversee the financial management of the Group and will report to the Group Finance Director. The Financial Controller will assume a hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations of the Group and will work closely with the respective asset management teams.

The Group Financial Controller will be a talented, professional and experienced individual, capable of managing a diverse list of tasks and ideally have experience in Private Equity backed organisation. This role will also involve liaising with finance departments across the portfolio of assets, supporting them in managing their budgets and financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and reconciliation of balance sheets
  • Review spending against budget
  • Preparation and analysis of KPI's
  • Processing of any relevant payment runs
  • Assist in preparation of any operating models
  • Assist on debt reporting, analysis and any other Ad hoc Group reporting requirements
  • Presentation of financial information at Management meetings (Subsidiary and Group Boards) and to any other internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Improve efficiencies and reduce company costs
  • Cash flow management, banking and treasury
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting process and reporting on variances
  • Assist in establishing and implementing robust financial systems, controls and processes
  • Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders including shareholders, finance teams across each of the assets and external advisors, e.g. auditors and banks
  • Working with auditors on the annual audit
  • Deliver on any HMRC reporting if required
  • Complete VAT returns
  • Assist in preparation of the year-end statutory accounts and tax returns

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) minimum of 3-4 years post qualified experience
  • Excellent management accounting skills and proven people manager
  • Will have dealt with the external audit process from start to finish
  • Working with a PE backed / Infrastructure investments is preferable
  • Commercial acumen and strategic business knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to persuade and influence
  • Committed, enthusiastic and able to use initiative to drive the business forward
  • Travel to the individual sites in the UK may be required from time to time
