Assistant Accountant

A great opportunity has arisen for a well established family run manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Blackpool are looking to expand their accounts team and appoint an Assistant Accountant.

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for the following :

• To present accurate and timely monthly management accounts
• Produce month end and year end journals
• VAT reporting for both UK and EU VAT submission
• Strong understanding of export documentation
• Assist with EU Vat submission
• Provide cover for weekly sales process as necessary
• Maintain fixed asset registers
• To prepare for the audit and to be the first point of contact with the auditors
• Checking and authorisation of bank payments
• Complete a daily analysis of bank accounts ensuring all payments have been made
• Weekly balancing of bank statements reconciling to Sage
• Checking and processing of business credit card

The successful Assistant Accountant will be proficient in SAGE and Excel and this position would compliment candidates studying their AAT / professional exams.
