Finance Manager

Description

A great opportunity has presented itself for a well known Kendal based company who are market leaders in their field. Due to the continued upturn in sales they now require an experienced Finance Manager to join the Senior Management Team. The Finance Manager will ideally be Qualified (although QBE candidates will also be considered) and will report to the Managing Director.

Duties will include :

• Managing an accounts office
• Manage month end procedures, accruals & pre-payments & nominal postings
• Prepare & share Management Accounts for review
• Ensure company's cash flow is managed and daily cash & forecasts prepared
• Prepare monthly reconciliation for invoice discounting & the company's bank
• Preparation of VAT returns & HMRC submissions, statistical returns etc
• Take ownership of intercompany transfers & maintain, implement improvements & procedures allocating work where appropriate
• Ensure credit control procedures are properly applied
• Administer workplace pension scheme

The Finance Manager must have an analytical mindset and must be thorough, accurate & comfortable when working to achieve a deadline. You will also have excellent interpersonal & communication skills to help develop a small & loyal team and be confident to build a rapport with external auditors and non-financial members of the team in general.
