Our client is a specialist manufacturing company based in Oldham. They pride themselves on giving their customers a high level of service and want to mirror this with their employees, making them feel valued and giving them the opportunity to grow and learn.

In this role, you will report directly to the CFO and will be a key figure within the finance team.

We are looking for an experienced Finance Professional to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation.

This person will be a key part of the management team and will be involved at a strategic level within the company and will also present to the Group's Corporate Team at the monthly management meetings.

This person will also work closely with the General Manager and operational staff to gain a full understanding of all aspects of the business.

A key part of the role is to identify and implement cost savings everywhere within the business.

Core Competencies:

  • Qualified accountant with experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • A proven track record of driving improvements and saving costs in production.
  • A desire to make improvements and cost savings and the tenacity to drive them through.
  • A hands-on approach - roll sleeves up and get out into the business to see what is really happening.
  • Improve profitability by identifying, and tackling, inefficiencies and waste in the production cycle.
  • Focus on reducing the amount of slow moving and obsolete stock!
  • Product costing experience / maintain accurate product costings.
  • Stock management experience /reduce the level of stock held.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and commercial skills.
  • Solid technical ability.
  • Experience of foreign currency transactions and foreign currency bank and ledger management.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience of MRP and/or ERP systems.
