Position Overview:

They are looking for a Senior Accountant who will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the general accounting function, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to monitor and control financial performance.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful financial reporting to senior management, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, preparing and submitting tax returns in a timely manner.
  • Lead the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Mentor and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards to ensure best practices are followed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to accuracy and detail.
