Description

My client is a leading manufacturing company known for their commitment to quality and innovation. They pride themselves on producing high-performance products that meet the evolving needs of their clients. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a Qualified Financial Controller to join the finance team and support the Finance Director in managing the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Oversee the company's day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and manage manufacturing costs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving measures where possible.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring all financial activities are compliant with legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Support the Finance Director in developing and implementing financial strategies that align with the company's long-term goals.
  • Financial Systems: Maintain and enhance financial systems and processes, ensuring they are robust, efficient, and scalable.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a strong background in financial management.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role, ideally within the manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a finance team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proactive and flexible approach to work.
