Job Title: Accounts Assistant - Dynamic Finance Team

Are you a highly motivated accounting professional with a keen eye for detail and a knack for numbers? This role is ideal for someone with at least two years of experience in accounting, excellent IT skills, and a drive to thrive in a busy, deadline-oriented role.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you'll take on a variety of critical financial tasks, including:

Accounts Receivable:

  • Entering and validating distributor invoices, ensuring accurate stock counts and price breaks.
  • Processing bank transfers, allocating payments, and calculating commission due.
  • Reconciling distributor accounts to maintain smooth and transparent business relationships.

Accounts Payable:

  • Ensuring accurate GL code assignment on purchase orders and matching invoices with receipts.
  • Validating supplier invoices, processing fixed assets, and maintaining the asset register.
  • Handling BACS, cheque payments, foreign currency transfers, and reconciling supplier accounts.

General Ledger:

  • Posting journals, reconciling account balances to the trial balance, and conducting variance analysis.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Addressing ad hoc queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Performing general administrative duties, including Microsoft Word and Excel tasks.
  • Managing petty cash and foreign currency and balancing month-end accounts with colleagues.
  • Coordinating travel arrangements for company employees.
  • Preparing VAT submissions.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a similar role within an accounting function, with essential sales experience.
  • IT Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel or similar software.
  • Time Management: Able to prioritize and manage workload efficiently, even under pressure.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in all financial transactions.
  • Team Player: Works well with others and has strong communication, interpersonal, and literacy skills.
  • Flexibility & Dependability: Adaptable, reliable, and ready to take on new challenges.
