Job Title : Company Accountant
Location : Blackpool
Salary : £50k
Are you ready to step into a pivotal role with real influence in a thriving, forward-thinking company? We're on the lookout for an experienced Company Accountant to join my clients growing business located just outside Blackpool.
This is a newly created position and your chance to make the role your own, shape the finance function, and be a key driver in the continued growth journey. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll be a trusted advisor and a core member of the Senior Management Team - your insights and leadership will help guide strategic decision-making across the business.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading and mentoring a small but dynamic finance team (currently 3 team members)
- Overseeing all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance
- Working closely with the MD and SMT to develop and implement financial strategies
- Managing cash flow, working capital, and ensuring robust financial controls are in place
- Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts and analysis
- Liaising with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and advisors
- Supporting the company through its next stage of growth and investment
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a strong commercial acumen
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within an SME or growing business
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to develop and inspire a team
- Comfortable being hands-on while also thinking strategically
- Proficiency with accounting software and strong Excel skills
- A proactive, solution-focused attitude and a genuine interest in business growth
