Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and a desire to grow your career in finance? My client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and supportive finance team at a well-established company based in the heart of Lancaster.

Your Role

As the new Accounts Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate running of the day-to-day financial operations. You'll be working closely with a well established Finance Manager and wider team, supporting both routine and ad hoc tasks.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements
• Managing sales invoicing and credit control
• Assisting with bank reconciliations and petty cash management
• Supporting month-end procedures
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers

What We're Looking For

We're after someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and eager to develop their career in finance. Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous experience in a similar accounts or finance role
• A good working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• A positive attitude and a team-oriented approach

AAT qualifications or working towards them would be an advantage but are not essential.
